Banner University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join our Neuro and Trauma specialty unit team! The Neuro-Trauma PCU is a 48 bed dual specialty unit serving both Neuro and Trauma high acuity patients

The Neuroscience service line at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ offers state-of-the‑art diagnostic and treatment modalities for patients while creating a rich educational and collaborative environment for our nursing and medical team. As the first comprehensive stroke center in Arizona, our team takes a multi-disciplinary team approach integrating our nurses in the care plan for the patient. Our exciting team accomplishments include laser thermal ablation of tumors, awake craniotomies, surgery for brainstem lesions, and endoscopic microsurgery.

As a Patient Care Assistant on our unit, you will be involved first‑hand in providing care that improves the patient experience and outcomes, while providing a greater learning opportunity within our specialized unit. Team work is strongly promoted within this department, as is the mentorship and support to be the best nursing assistant you can be. This position is a full time DAY shift working three 12‑hour shifts per week from 7:00am - 7:30pm. We have a rotating weekend and holiday schedule, and utilize a self scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable.

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on‑going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

• Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.
