RRT Vascular Access Specialist
Patient Age Group:
Adult, Geriatric (occasional adolescent depending on unit)
Number of Beds: ~317 beds (Community hospital)
Ratios:
Varies by unit
Minimum Experience:
2+ years acute care experience required (vascular access / critical care strongly preferred)
Ventilators:
Yes – vents, BiPAP, CPAP commonly managed (RRT-driven protocols in ICU/ED)
Drips/Machine
Experience:
Experience with vasoactive drips, sedation, insulin, and critical care infusions preferred; familiarity with ultrasound-guided line placement, PICC/midline insertion (if vascular access team)
Common Diagnosis:
Sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, stroke, trauma, diabetes complications, renal failure
Required Certs:
BLS (required)
ACLS (required for critical care areas)
PALS/NALS (preferred depending on unit)
RRT credential (NBRC)
Technology / EMR
Experience:
Cerner EMR (required experience preferred)
Float / On-Call Requirements:
Floating required within scope (ICU/PCU/ED depending on skill set); vascular access teams may cover multiple units; on-call may be required for line team depending on department
Orientation Frequency:
Weekly
RTO / Shift / Scheduling Restrictions:
Typically 3x12s; block scheduling may be available but not guaranteed; RTO must be included at time of submission and is limited (facility approval required); weekend and holiday rotation expected
Pro Link Allied Job #D-222183. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
