Overview

The Pool Server is the face of the outdoor guest experience at The Camby, providing high-energy hospitality in a fast-paced, sunny environment. This role is a unique hybrid of serving and bartending, requiring the ability to manage a section of poolside loungers while expertly preparing cocktails. You will remain attentive to guests throughout their visit, ensuring a premium resort atmosphere while adhering to strict safety and service standards.

This is a seasonal, full-time position (Thursday-Sunday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM) with a high potential to transition into a permanent, year-round role within our food and beverage team at the end of the season.

Core Responsibilities

• Active Service: Greets guests at poolside loungers and cabanas, taking food and drink orders with an upbeat and professional demeanor.
• Cocktail Preparation: Directly prepares cocktails and other beverages according to hotel recipes, maintaining speed and consistency.
• Operational Excellence: Completes all outdoor-specific side work, including restocking bar supplies, clearing glassware from the pool deck, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Financial Integrity: Processes guest checks, ensuring accurate payment and safeguarding company and guest information.
• Attentiveness: Proactively monitors the pool area to anticipate guest needs, such as water refills or menu recommendations, while working under outdoor weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Six months to one year serving experience
• Six months to one year bartending experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Read, write and speak English fluently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions
• Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction
