Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the General Manager of Outlets and Food & Beverage Managers in overseeing the daily operations of assigned Food & Beverage outlets. This role ensures prompt, professional, and high-quality service is delivered to guests while helping to lead a motivated, guest-focused team. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in team supervision, service standards, guest satisfaction, training, financial performance, and operational excellence while developing the leadership skills and operational experience necessary for increased management responsibility.
This position may support multiple venues throughout the resort based on business needs.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in managing the daily operations of assigned Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring smooth and efficient execution of all services.
- Supervise and support team members including servers, order takers, and runners during all shifts, ensuring adherence to service standards, operational procedures, and luxury hospitality expectations.
- Coordinate with culinary, stewarding, housekeeping, engineering, and other resort departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Act as the point of contact during shifts to handle guest requests, complaints, and service recovery professionally and promptly.
- Maintain product quality and presentation standards in alignment with hotel brand expectations.
- Assist in creating schedules, managing time-off requests, and adjusting coverage based on business needs according to Pyramid Global Labor Standards.
- Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching to support development and consistency in service delivery.
- Assist in leading, coaching, and developing Food & Beverage team members under the direction of Food & Beverage leadership while maintaining clear expectations, providing consistent feedback, recognizing strong performance, and holding individuals accountable for meeting operational and luxury service standards.
- Monitor inventory and support par level maintenance for all supplies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and all sanitation policies.
- Review daily reports, logs, and shift handovers to stay aligned with departmental goals and service trends.
- Lead by example with a hands-on approach to leadership during peak periods or when short-staffed.
- Participate in service audits to ensure Forbes Standards are consistently executed and provide feedback to management regarding opportunities for improvement.
- Provide operational leadership in assigned Food & Beverage outlets and assist with resort events as directed by Food & Beverage leadership based on business demands.
- Complete assigned administrative responsibilities, including scheduling support, payroll review, inventory documentation, purchasing, shift reports, daily logs, departmental communication, and attendance at required leadership meetings.
- Maintain an active and visible presence on the floor during service periods and peak business hours to support team members, monitor service execution, engage with guests, and ensure adherence to luxury service standards.
What are we looking for?
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least two (2) years of college education, preferred
Experience:
- At least one (1) year of food and beverage supervisory experience, required
- Prior management experience, preferred
- Luxury hotel experience, preferred
Licenses or Certificates:
- Arizona Food Handlers or Safe Serve Certification within 90 days of hire
- Title 4 Liquor Training or TIPS Training completion upon hire or within 90 days of hire
