MCA Financial Group is a respected national boutique advisory firm headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The firm provides a broad range of advisory services, including turnaround and restructuring, business valuation, capital formation and refinancing, litigation support and expert testimony, M&A, real estate receiverships, and related services tailored to client needs.

MCA Financial Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and execute all core HR functions for a boutique financial advisory firm based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role requires a seasoned HR professional who can operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and act as a business partner with firm leadership on people-related matters. The successful candidate will bring practical experience across benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting, performance management, compensation analysis, training and development, and compliance within a professional services environment.

This role is well-suited for an experienced, self-directed professional who thrives in a relationship-driven professional services environment and enjoys working closely with senior leadership.

Work Description Human Resources Operations
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, policies, and procedures in accordance with firm standards and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to leadership and employees on HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding, including hiring, termination, and exit processes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
Benefits & Compensation
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefit offerings.
  • Serve as primary liaison with benefits brokers, payroll providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Support compensation planning, benchmarking, and annual review processes.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating and enhancing benefit offerings to remain competitive within the financial services market.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for professional, administrative, and senior-level hires.
  • Partner with firm leadership to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Manage job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer processes.
  • Support talent development initiatives, including performance evaluations and career progression frameworks.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including Arizona-specific requirements.
  • Maintain HR policies and employee handbook, updating as necessary to reflect legal and organizational changes.
  • Support workplace investigations and manage sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Coordinate required training, certifications, and compliance-related documentation.
Culture & Firm Support
  • Support a professional, high-performance firm culture aligned with the firm’s values.
  • Assist leadership in implementing policies and practices that promote employee engagement, retention, and accountability.
  • Serve as a steady, objective presence during periods of growth or organizational change.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5–10+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within financial services, professional services, consulting, or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing benefits, employee relations, recruiting, and compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and Arizona employment laws and HR best practices. Experience working in multi-state compliance environments.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership in a confidential, advisory-oriented environment.
