Human Resources Generalist

Valley COM is seeking an HR Generalist to support the institution’s transition from start-up mode to steady-state operations. This role will build and manage core HR functions — recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance — as the college grows its faculty and staff base.

• Support the institution's mission through people-focused HR practices
• Manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for faculty and staff
• Administer employee benefits, PTO, and leave programs
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment law
• Develop and maintain HR policies and the employee handbook
• Support performance management and employee relations matters
• Partner with department leaders on staffing and workforce planning
• Collaborate with a fractional CHRO as that role comes online
• Support accreditation-related HR documentation and compliance

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 3+ years of HR generalist experience; higher education or healthcare experience preferred
• Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience with HRIS/payroll systems
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred but not required
