La Mesa RV is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Assistant to support the day-to-day administration of payroll and employee benefit programs.

This position will assist with payroll processing, timekeeping, employee changes, and payroll inquiries while also supporting benefits administration, employee enrollments, and benefit-related questions.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, customer-focused, and comfortable handling confidential employee information while managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Support
• Review, compile, and upload payroll information from multiple sources.
• Collect, verify, and audit employee timekeeping records for accuracy.
• Enter and maintain garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll with holdings.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records and payroll system data.
• Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner.

Benefits Support
• Assist with the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance products.
• Support new hire benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and ongoing enrollment activities.
• Assist employees with benefit questions and provide information regarding available benefit plans.
• Review and maintain benefit enrollment information and employee records for accuracy.
• Communicate and interact professionally with employees and HR & Payroll team.
• Assist with researching and resolving employee benefit, and enrollment issues.
• Support employee benefit communications
• Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll, benefits, and personal information.
• Perform additional payroll, benefits, and HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of payroll, benefits, HR, or related administrative experience preferred.
• Previous experience supporting payroll processing and/or employee benefits administration strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience working with payroll or HRIS systems;
Paycom experience preferred.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.
• Proactive, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Working knowledge of payroll and employee benefit regulations is preferred, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
