The Skills Center Workforce Partnership Coordinator y's Food Bank develops and maintains relationships with employers, community organizations, and workforce partners to create employment opportunities for graduates of the organization’s trade and workforce training programs. This position serves as a bridge between program graduates and local employers by identifying hiring needs, developing partnerships, coordinating recruitment opportunities, and supporting successful employment placements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local employers and businesses that have hiring needs aligned with the organization’s training programs.
  • Identify and cultivate new employment partners interested in hiring program graduates.
  • Meet with employers to understand their workforce needs, job requirements, hiring processes, and employment opportunities.
  • Develop a pipeline of employers and job opportunities for graduates across relevant industries.
  • Coordinate employer presentations, recruitment events, hiring fairs, interviews, and job-shadowing opportunities, mock-interviews for program participants.
  • Assist with building resumes for students that align with employer needs
  • Work closely with Job Coaches, Career Coaches, instructors, and program staff to identify graduates who are ready for employment.
  • Match qualified graduates with appropriate employment opportunities based on their skills, training, interests, and career goals.
  • Follow up with employers after placement to support retention and address concerns or barriers when appropriate.
  • Research local labor-market trends, in-demand occupations, wages, and employer hiring needs to identify new partnership opportunities.
  • Participate in community workforce development meetings, employer networking events, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and other professional events.
  • Share employer feedback with program leadership and instructional staff to help strengthen training programs.
  • Ensure employer and placement documentation is accurate, timely, and maintained according to organizational policies and program requirements.
  • Speaks on behalf of SMFBA in public settings.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all internal/external customers of St. Mary’s Food Bank with an excellent service experience.

Scope and Complexity

May interact with all levels of leadership, employees, agency representatives, community neighbors, volunteers, external vendors, and clients.

Physical Demands/Environment Factors
  • Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires significant use of personal computer, phone and general office equipment.
  • Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects.
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
  • Require off-site travel
Education, Skills/Qualifications/Abilities
  • Strong sales/outreach background
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or two years of experience in a related position
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License
  • High desire, motivation and comfort level helping at-risk individuals of diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds facing significant personal barriers to achieve greater self-sufficiency in their life through job training and placement.
