Job Summary:

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for supporting a broad range of employee relations functions. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and leaders by providing guidance on workplace concerns, supporting consistent application of HR policies and procedures, and helping foster a respectful, compliant, and positive workplace culture.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Consults with leaders and provides employee relations guidance consistent with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws.

Serves as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace-related matters.

Supports conflict resolution efforts and conducts or assists with workplace investigations, as appropriate.

Partners with leaders and HR peers to support employee engagement and retention initiatives.

Conducts exit and stay interviews; summarizes findings and identifies trends, concerns, and opportunities for leadership review.

Facilitates monthly scorecard meetings with leaders to review staffing trends, employee relations themes, and related metrics.

Provides guidance to managers regarding performance concerns, behavioral issues, documentation, and corrective action processes.

Attends and supports employee disciplinary meetings, corrective action discussions, and terminations, as appropriate.

Maintains accurate employee relations records, documentation, and HR system data in accordance with organizational requirements.

Assists with the development and delivery of HR-related training programs and resources.

Supports leaders through annual performance review processes and related follow-up activities.

Demonstrates conduct and communication consistent with the organization’s values, standards, and service expectations. Maintains awareness of and supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended HR best practices.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal, coaching, conflict resolution, and consultation skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

Strong knowledge of employee relations practices, Equal Employment Opportunity requirements, and related employment compliance obligations.

Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines to workplace situations.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, communication, and recordkeeping.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively use HR systems and related technology.

Education and Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum of three years of employee relations experience.

Experience using HRIS systems

Preferred:

Paycom experience.

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification.

Other Requirements:

New hires are required to successfully complete pre-employment background screening and drug testing requirements.

Must have valid driver’s license, car insurance, and ability to travel between work locations.
