Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Network Administrator – Level 1 to join our team. This role provides foundational support for DBM Vircon’s network infrastructure, assisting with monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable connectivity and performance. Reporting to the IT Manager, the role operates within a global environment, supporting network operations across multiple time zones and locations while offering strong opportunities for career development.

By maintaining network stability, minimizing downtime, and supporting end-users, this role plays a key part in keeping teams connected and productive. This is a full-time, Permanent Position in a growing international team, with excellent growth potential.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, system health, and alerts.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot network connectivity issues escalated from the IT Support team.
  • Assist with the configuration, deployment, and management of network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.
  • Support wireless network infrastructure, VLAN configuration, and VPN connectivity for remote users and site-to-site connections.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and network cable management/labeling.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, IP address assignments, configuration records, and knowledge base articles.
  • Support the implementation of network security policies, access controls, and compliance with change management processes.
  • Assist with capacity planning by tracking network utilization trends and participating in network improvement projects with the Senior Network team.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Maintain inventory of network equipment and licenses, and provide after-hours support on a rotational basis as needed.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in network support, IT infrastructure, or technical roles; entry-level candidates with relevant certifications and demonstrated technical aptitude are also encouraged to apply.
  • Previous help desk or technical support experience, with hands-on exposure to network equipment in lab or production environments preferred.
  • Associate degree in IT, Computer Networking, or related field (or equivalent practical experience); a Bachelor’s degree is desirable but not required.
  • Relevant professional certifications, such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+/Network+, or vendor-specific certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba), or actively pursuing these.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), switching concepts, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, cabling infrastructure, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), remote access solutions, and network monitoring tools (Logic Monitor, Wireshark, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows, basic Linux) and network device CLI, with familiarity using documentation tools and ITSM platforms (Visio, Lucidchart, Jira, Service Now).
  • Understanding of the OSI model, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, subnetting, structured cabling standards, and network troubleshooting tools (ping, trace route, nslookup, ipconfig/ifconfig).
