An Average Day:
As the System Administrator Lead, you will supervise a team of ten administrators. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing operating systems such as Microsoft, Linux, and VMware, managing cloud services, and ensuring security compliance. You will also direct authentication services, web servers, and communication platforms, with a focus on backup management, security administration, and system configuration. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the organization’s IT infrastructure.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Supervise a team of ten System Administrators, providing guidance and support.
- Manage system administration for Microsoft, Linux, VMware, and appliance-based operating systems.
- Support cloud services and on-premises hardware, ensuring optimal performance.
- Administer authentication services, including Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
- Provide expertise in web server and web application support.
- Oversee communication/collaboration services such as Exchange, Lync, Microsoft O365, and Team Foundation Server.
- Ensure the health and efficiency of the backup environment, conducting annual restore tests.
- Administer security and antivirus technologies, as well as certificate and licensing services.
- Perform system hardening in accordance with security baselines and collaborate with Cyber Security Specialists during incident responses.
- Implement change management procedures, maintain server software/hardware, and develop and test deployment strategies for upgrades.
- Serve as Deputy ITOC Manager.

- Experience in a multi-platform computer center environment.
- Ability to gain, understand, and apply knowledge from technical manuals and SOPs.
- Experience working with operating systems, cloud services, and hardware including but not limited to:
- Windows, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Microsoft Azure, HPE servers
- Experience working with authentication services including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Ping Identity, Core street HID appliances and OCSP authentication support, RSA Secur
ID, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
- Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Ping Identity, Core street HID appliances and OCSP authentication support, RSA Secur
- Experience with web and web-supporting services including but not limited to:
- Microsoft SharePoint, AvePoint, Microsoft IIS, Apache, Tomcat
- Experience with communication/collaboration services including but not limited to:
- Exchange, Lync, Microsoft O365, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Project Server
- Experience with backup and restore technologies including but not limited to:
- Data Domain backup appliances, Veritas Net Backup
- Experience with patching technologies including but not limited to:
- Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft WSUS, Red Hat Satellite, Ivanti 3rd party patching support
- Experience with security and antivirus technologies including but not limited to:
- McAfee drive encryption, Trend Micro, Tripwire
- Experience with certificate and licensing services including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Certificate Server, Microsoft Key Management Server (KMS)
- Experience with application and support technologies including but not limited to:
- Remote user support, F5 load balancers, PACS services, network video system, Microsoft SQL
- Knowledge of LDAP, DHCP, DNS.
- Knowledge of Perl, Power Shell, Windows scripting, and standard shell scripts.
- Knowledge in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) systems.
- Verbal, written, and communication skills commensurate with senior level technical staff.
- Judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to gain, understand, and apply knowledge from technical manuals and SOPs.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee‑owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,973.00/Yr.
- USD $/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
