Arizona State Parks and Trails (ASPT) is seeking a Web Developer to support and maintain , a high-traffic website receiving over 14 million visits annually, along with related reservation pages.
The developer will focus heavily on WCAG 2.2 accessibility compliance, CMS updates, performance improvements, and collaboration with Tyler Technologies to resolve system-level issues.
Core Technical Skills- HTML & CSS
- Java Script
- Responsive Web Design
- Git (Version Control)
- Backend & API Integration (Node.js, SQL, Databases)
- Testing & Debugging
- Web Performance Optimization
- Security Best Practices
- Strong experience with HTML & CSS
- Hands‑on JavaScript development experience
- Backend and API integration experience (Node.js, SQL, etc.)
- Experience working with databases
- Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards
- Experience using code repositories (Git)
Under the supervision of IT and Communications leadership, the contractor will:
- Use Acquia Optimize to identify accessibility and quality issues
- Implement WCAG 2.2 A & AA fixes within the CMS
- Fix broken links and broken images
- Compile issues requiring vendor (Tyler Technologies) intervention
- Monitor accessibility improvements and recommend enhancements
- Coordinate with Tyler Technologies on releases and validate functionality post-release
Currently identified:
- 48 Level A accessibility issues
- 24 Level AA accessibility issues
- Custom CMS developed by Tyler Technologies
- Accessibility scanning tools:
Level Access & Acquia Optimize - High-visibility public-facing government website
- Collaboration with Communications, Research & Marketing (CRAM) team
- Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG 2.2 A & AA)
- Comfortable working in a structured government environment
- Detail-oriented with strong debugging and research skills
- Able to collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders
