Key Skills

• DASD Management (z/OS, SMS, DFSMS, DFHSM)
• Tape Management Systems (DFSMSrmm, CA 1, TLMS)
• Storage Hardware & Virtualization (IBM DS8K, TS7700, FICON)

• 8+ years of experience in managing Mainframe Storage Systems, including Tape and DASD systems.
• Extensive experience with Mainframe Storage, specifically with DASD and VTS/Grid – IBM DS8K and TS7K.
• Proficiency in Tape management systems – IBM RRM, OAM.
• Experience with virtual tape solutions and management.
• Experience with Global Mirror, Global Copy, FDR Software, and client routines.
• Manage replication using tools such as CSM, DSCLI.
• Familiarity with IBM utilities including IDCAMS, ISMF, Dcollect.
• Support Disaster Recovery within Mainframe environment.
• Administer DFSMS (client routines, storage groups/classes), DFSMShsm (HSM policies, space management, migration/recall), and Catalog/ICF management (IDCAMS).
• Collaborate with backup/recovery teams on policy, Flash Copy/Snap, DR readiness, and test execution.
• Handle hardware/software related MLC and code load updates on both Tape and DASD systems.
• Perform data recovery for Tape and DASD.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams, DRaaS Coordinators, clients, and vendors, regularly updating managers on drill status.
• Provide training, technical guidance, and mentoring to junior team members.
• Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, coordination, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
