Overview

Collaborate with key data and technology stakeholders to build out the enterprise data architecture practice. Execute PNC’s data strategy by establishing data architecture models and standards that enable data observability, interchangeability, integrity, confidentiality, and availability. This senior-level role requires leadership skills, creative thinking, and hands‑on expertise to guide teams in developing semantic and object standards for data taxonomies, models, flows, lineage diagrams, and entity relationship models.

Key

Deliverables
  • Strategy – Build strategies that guide business and technology leaders; create usable architecture artifacts; develop metrics; measure progress; articulate business impact of data flows.
  • Architecture – Create data reference architectures; document data flows; produce analysis for technology recommendations; develop patterns for common data flows; resolve complex data definitions.
  • Modeling – Lead development of data modeling standards and guidelines; design entity and flow models; maintain inventory of conceptual, logical, and physical models; enforce validation checks.
  • Classification – Oversee metadata, master data, and reference data management; design ontologies and semantic models; drive alignment of data semantics with regulatory requirements; establish enterprise standards.
  • Collaboration – Work with enterprise and solution architects; guide data product alignment; partner with architecture teams; champion semantic layers; provide mentorship.
  • Governance – Measure progress against objectives; ensure adherence to best practices and data principles; govern ontology modeling and naming conventions; define auditability and traceability standards; maintain governance practices.

  • Experience in large strategic transformation programs
  • Experience in financial services organizations with AI and Cloud technologies
  • Strong communication, relationship building, collaboration, and influencing skills
  • Certifications in DCAM, CDMP, DMC, TOGAF, or SAFe (desirable)
Individual Contributor Qualifications
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture experience
  • Experience in large, complex enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with both operational and analytical data platforms
Preferred Skills
  • Hands‑on execution of Data Architecture within a TOGAF or similar framework
  • Strong understanding of baseline/target architecture, gap analysis, and transition planning
  • Experience with formal architecture governance processes
  • Ability to translate business needs into data architecture outcomes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence decisions without direct authority

Experience & Education
  • University / college degree required; advanced degree (Masters, PhD) desirable
  • 8+ years of industry experience (or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience)
  • Specific certifications often required (e.g., TOGAF, DCAM, CDMP)
Compensation

Base Salary: $80,000.00 – $ (geographically adjusted); incentive eligible based on company and individual performance.
