Data Engineer, Database Administrator
CTG is seeking an experienced DB2 Replication Engineer to support enterprise database replication environments across mainframe and distributed platforms. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing IBM Db2 replication solutions to support high availability, disaster recovery, and real-time data synchronization initiatives.
Location: Phoenix, AZ metro area (Hybrid working model)
Duration: 6 months with option to convert after 6 months
Citizenship Requirements: USC, Permanent Resident, or Other EAD holders (no visa dependent candidates)
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and support IBM Db2 replication environments.
- Administer replication technologies including Q Replication, SQL Replication, CDC, IBM Info Sphere Data Replication, and IBM IIDR.
- Monitor replication performance, latency, and synchronization health.
- Troubleshoot replication failures and database performance issues.
- Support HA/DR initiatives and enterprise database resiliency strategies.
- Coordinate database migrations, upgrades, and replication cutovers.
- Develop automation scripts using SQL, shell scripting, JCL, or REXX.
- Collaborate with DBAs, infrastructure teams, developers, and data engineering teams.
- Maintain operational documentation and support procedures.
- Strong experience with IBM Db2 replication technologies.
- Hands‑on expertise with Q Replication, CDC, SQL Replication, IBM IIDR, and Info Sphere Data Replication.
- Knowledge of mainframe and distributed database environments.
- Strong SQL, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
- 5+ years of experience supporting Db2 replication environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale, mission‑critical database systems.
- Industry experience in banking, insurance, healthcare, retail, telecommunications, or similar enterprise environments preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
