Responsibilities
  • Support operations, monitoring, and proactively maintain companies’ systems and technologies, including VMware, Windows Servers, IIS, and other applications.
  • Provision virtual machines via VMware and Hyper‑V platforms, including physical servers.
  • Create domain accounts for service use or security groups.
  • Generate system utilization reports utilizing monitoring tools such as Solar Winds 7 Vrops.
  • Assist with web application update deployments from development to production servers, including copying files and managing IIS services and application pools.
  • Work off a Service Now platform to manage assigned tickets.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators/engineers to optimize server performance and reliability.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills and testing.
  • Collaborate with the IT Service Desk to resolve user issues in a timely manner and provide level 1 technical support for escalated issues within SLA standards.
  • Apply Windows Server 2016+ technologies such as Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, IIS 7.0, Remote Desktop Services and other Windows Server roles.
  • Administer server‑bound applications such as IIS, Active Directory, and VMware.
  • Enforce IT standards and best practices to ensure high user satisfaction and system availability.
  • Leverage problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for common inquiries or escalations.
  • Configure and maintain remote access technologies such as Remote Desktop Services.
  • Manage SAN/NAS technologies, servers, and VMware Datastore storage.
  • Assist in planning and executing network and server technology migrations.
  • Perform on‑site physical tasks, lifting server equipment, rack‑stacking, cabling, etc.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and document activities via weekly summary reporting.
  • Demonstrate time management, teamwork, and a commitment to learning new skills.
  • Be available for rotating on‑call scheduling.
  • Be willing to work outside normal business hours as needed.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience with IT maintenance and technical support.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, and MCITP are preferred.
  • Azure Fundamentals certification is desired but not necessary.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certified is desired but not necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
  • Strong understanding of all the following Microsoft infrastructure applications:
    Windows Servers, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, IIS.
  • Working knowledge of Dell and HP server hardware.
  • Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
