Summary
The Client Technology Staging Associate is responsible for end-to-end device provisioning and multi-device staging in support of the Abacus client base. This role combines hands‑on PC building and imaging with user onboarding/offboarding and the configuration of additional client hardware such as mobile devices, phones, and select network-enabled equipment. This position is client-facing in impact and highly visible within the organization. It requires precision, strong communication skills, technical depth across Windows and cloud environments, and a process-driven mindset.
While exposure to network-connected devices is expected, this role does not require advanced network engineering responsibilities. Engineers in this role are expected to execute standardized build processes while also identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and scripting.
- Build and configure laptops and desktop PCs using Abacus standard procurement and build processes
- Execute imaging workflows (PXE, USB, or automated tools)
- Stage devices according to Abacus and client-specific checklists
- Install and configure Windows and macOS operating systems
- Configure BIOS settings, drivers, and firmware updates as required
- Troubleshoot hardware issues including GPUs, USB devices, driver conflicts, and OS-level errors
- Validate successful configuration prior to shipment
- Stage and initial configuration on equipment such as:
- Mobile devices
- Desk phones
- Peripheral hardware
- Network devices
- Experience in IT support, system administration, or a client-facing technical role
- Hands-on experience building and configuring Windows PCs
- Basic understanding of:
- MacOS
- Active Directory
- DNS & DHCP
- Microsoft 365 / Azure
- Networking
- Automation tools
- Device management
