Business Data Analyst

*** Candidates must go into the office 4 days a week (Downtown Phoenix)

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst to support enterprise data and analytics initiatives by bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. This role will focus on gathering and translating business requirements into technical specifications, data mapping documentation, and reporting solutions leveraging Azure cloud technologies, SQL, and Power BI. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and experience working within banking or financial services environments.

• Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements from stakeholders across business and technology teams.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications, field-level data mapping documents, and business rules for data integration initiatives.
• Partner with data engineers, developers, and business users to support the design and implementation of data solutions within Azure cloud environments.
• Develop, optimize, and validate SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
• Create and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that deliver actionable business insights.
• Support data integration, ETL, testing, and user acceptance activities to ensure data accuracy, quality, and successful solution delivery.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, data quality, and data integrity standards across reporting and analytics initiatives.

• Strong experience with SQL, including complex queries, data validation, optimization, and analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to create data mapping documents, technical specifications, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working within banking, financial services, or highly regulated environments, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
