Salary: $18.60 to $22.32 Per Hour

SummaryUnder general supervision, sets up computer hardware and installs software applications, troubleshoots and repairs computer‑related problems, and repairs audio and visual equipment. Travels to various sites to determine if setup, installation, and repairs can be performed at user site or at the systems support workstation. Provides user support by responding to inquiries, maintaining pleasant and supportive service, and following up to ensure user satisfaction.
EssentialFunctions
- Sets up computer hardware and installs software applications; ensures proper installation.
- Troubleshoots and repairs computer problems (hardware and software).
- Repairs audio and visual equipment and other technology‑related peripherals (overheads, film projectors, record players, radios, laminators, television, laser players, CD players, printers, scanners, plotters, modems).
- Travels to departments and schools to assist users with problems not correctable remotely.
- Determines supplies and parts needed for setup, installation, and repairs; tracks inventory.
- Answers user support inquiries related to software, hardware, integration, installation, and network connectivity; analyzes and resolves problems using diagnostic techniques.
- Sets up and configures PC‑Compatible and Macintosh computers for application software and networking; determines necessary software and hardware for networking.
- Performs help‑desk duties: answers and responds to user calls, diagnoses, analyzes, and resolves software, hardware, and network problems; documents all calls.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to hiring.
- One year of computer support or related experience.
- Valid Arizona Department of Transportation driver’s license.
- Associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
- Valid MCSE certification.
- Valid A+ certification.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Using Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
- Performing basic electronic repairs.
- Setting up computer hardware and using computer software applications.
- Understanding memory management and basic input/output operations.
- Knowing basic networking principles.
- Applying troubleshooting techniques.
- Demonstrating effective customer support.
- Engaging and encouraging communication while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc.
Works with hands, reaches, talks, and hears; frequently stands. Occasionally walks, sits, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Must lift up to 100 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires clear, color, peripheral, depth, and adjusting focus vision.
Working ConditionsExposed to risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and high or precarious places. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, outside weather, extreme cold, and radiation. Noise level is usually moderate.
