Senior Cloud Security Engineer About the Role
As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and securing scalable, cloud‑native platforms across public cloud environments. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Platform & Security team and work collaboratively with engineering, Dev Ops, and enterprise security stakeholders to protect containerised workloads and applications.
Responsibilities- Design and implement Kubernetes security controls across platforms such as Amazon EKS, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Open Shift
- Develop and enforce policy‑as‑code frameworks using tools such as OPA/Gatekeeper and Hashi Corp Sentinel
- Implement cloud security controls and governance practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments
- Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines to enable Dev Sec Ops and automated remediation workflows
- Enhance cloud security posture using CNAPP tools (e.g., Wiz, Palo Alto Cortex) and drive continuous improvements in platform security and performance

Qualifications- Strong experience in cloud security engineering across AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes security (EKS, GKE, Open Shift), including network policies and workload isolation
- Experience implementing policy‑as‑code using OPA/Gatekeeper or Hashi Corp Sentinel
- Knowledge of CNAPP or cloud security posture tools such as Wiz or Palo Alto Cortex
- Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and automating security controls and remediation
- Experience designing secure, multi‑tenant Kubernetes environments
- Strong understanding of Dev Sec Ops practices and automation frameworks
- Familiarity with incident response, vulnerability management, and root cause analysis
- Experience with observability tools (monitoring, logging, alerting in cloud environments)
- Proven ability to optimise cloud cost, performance, and security posture

The annual salary for this position is between $63,000 – $108,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
