Operations Technology Engineering - Sr. Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

Sr. Analyst – Operations Technology Engineering is a hands‑on, technical role within Republic Services’ Operations Technology group in Phoenix, focused on rapid prototyping and technology innovation that advances fleet modernization. The Sr. Analyst applies strong software engineering or robust analytical skills to design, build, and deploy functional proof‑of‑concept solutions, taking complex systems ideas from concept to working prototype. As a systems‑level thinker, the Sr.

Analyst thrives in a fast‑paced implementation environment and bridges the gap between theoretical concepts and real‑world feasibility to drive tangible operational value.

• Interface with IT management to create sustainable and scalable solutions for business processes.
• Partner with IT leads to ensure implementation of solutions meets business requirements.
• Create technical flow diagrams, wireframes and prototypes to guide development resources in rapid integration asset development.
• Define and document reporting metrics and the calculation of those metrics from source system data.
• Analyze source data systems for content, and write technical definition specifications, report layouts/mockups, and test scripts.
• Use query languages like SQL to mine data, create reports, and identify performance trends, including forecast impact on future results.
• Make recommendations on use of information to improve results, including changes to business processes.
• Report project KPIs to leadership on a regular cadence.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned or apparent.

• Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as MSFT Power BI, Qlik, Tableau.
• Experience in workflow modeling, data modeling, and process engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to extract data from large data warehouses using SQL, SAS, and advanced Excel (Macros, functions, pivot tables, dashboards).
• Programming experience in SQL, Python, and/or R.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a business or technical analysis role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects.

This role is hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day per week remote at our HQ office in Phoenix, AZ. Republic Services is not able to provide sponsorship for this role.
