IT Business Analyst, Data Analyst
What You'll Do
As a Staff IT Analyst III, you will lead the review of current processes and metrics that support operational effectiveness, identify constraints or opportunities that can accelerate the business and technology strategy, and develop options or approaches to improve business outcomes. You will lead work to develop and review artifacts that accurately describe current state processes, practices, and/or metrics, determine the root cause for constraints in the process, and actively identify alternative process and practice options with associated impact on KRIs, KPIs, or Operational Metrics.
You will also facilitate discussions with IT, Product, and Business subject‑matter experts to better understand the problem statement or opportunity, capture relevant insights, and review any findings or artifacts to validate the right problem or opportunity is being assessed. Additionally, you will identify, socialize, and obtain approval for, as well as upkeep, KRIs, KPIs, and Operational Metrics.
- Lead large, complex projects with the expectation of ensuring the business outcomes are achieved. Gain a full understanding of how your work connects to the defined project objectives and help define the work breakdown structure for any activities. Set and meet deadlines, lead discussions with stakeholders, and review artifacts while working to resolve any issues that impede progress.
- Develop a list of critical documentation and artifacts to meet project objectives while completing the development of high‑quality deliverables through effectively communicating learnings, findings, impacts, and next steps with subject‑matter experts.
- Use deep understanding of Microsoft Office tools, diagramming software (e.g., Lucid, Visio), and/or other appropriate technical tools within a specific domain or functional area for processes, data analysis, and IT governance.
- Leverage risk‑management experience from a large financial institution subject to heightened standards, specifically in risk, compliance, or corporate governance.
- Analyze, document, and maintain IT processes, standards, and procedures across service management, security, and operations.
- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT practices aligned with frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, and internal governance models.
- Partner with IT teams to assess process gaps, risks, and inefficiencies, and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, workflows, RACI models, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities by gathering evidence, tracking remediation actions, and ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Track and report on IT process performance using KPIs, metrics, and dashboards.
- Facilitate process reviews, workshops, and stakeholder discussions to drive adoption and standardization.
- Assist in budgeting and financial management and reporting.
- Coordinate schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet service delivery objectives and deadlines.
- Monitor and report on service performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment of IT services with business requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of IT services across the organization.
- Consult with IT senior leaders and other business leaders to identify improvement opportunities.
- Creating reports for internal teams, external clients, and/or stakeholders.
- Collaborating with team members to collect and analyze data.
- Structuring large data sets to find usable information.
- Processing information with a team of analysts and other associates.
- Crafting presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings.
- Ensure alignment between IT practices and business objectives.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging best practices in IT operations and governance.
