The OpportunityOur client is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join its Infrastructure team and play a key role in a company-wide Windows 11 hardware refresh initiative across multiple manufacturing locations. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a long-term career path. While the initial focus will be leading endpoint deployment efforts, the role will transition into a broader Tier 1/Tier 2 Infrastructure Support position supporting enterprise systems, end users, and core IT operations.
This position is ideal for someone with 2-5 years of IT support or endpoint deployment experience who enjoys hands-on technical work, traveling to different locations, and working independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do- Lead onsite Windows 11 laptop and workstation deployment activities across multiple U.S. manufacturing locations.
- Image, configure, and deploy Windows 11 devices using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), DISM, PXE, and related deployment technologies.
- Perform user migrations, workstation replacements, and peripheral installations including monitors, docking stations, and printers.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and deployment‑related issues during rollout activities.
- Maintain accurate hardware inventory and asset records utilizing Connect Wise and enterprise asset management tools.
- Coordinate deployment activities with local business units, Infrastructure team members, and third‑party vendors.
- Document deployment activities, technical procedures, and support issues.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for end users following completion of the hardware refresh initiative.
- Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint management, and other core infrastructure technologies.
- Participate in ongoing infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- 2-5 years of IT Support, Desktop Support, Endpoint Support, or Field Support experience.
- At least one year of hands‑on Windows imaging and workstation deployment experience.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 operating systems.
- Experience with hardware installation including SSDs, RAM, docking stations, monitors, and peripherals.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, TCP/IP, Microsoft 365, Windows networking, and endpoint troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational skills with experience maintaining hardware inventory and deployment documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel extensively during the initial deployment phase.
- Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), DISM, PXE, or similar imaging technologies.
- Experience with endpoint management platforms such as Intune, MECM/SCCM, or Autopilot.
- Familiarity with Connect Wise or similar IT service management platforms.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or multi‑site enterprise environments.
- Exposure to Crowd Strike, CyberCNS, or enterprise security platforms.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant technical certifications.
The ideal candidate is a technically capable, self‑sufficient IT professional who enjoys solving problems in the field and working directly with end users. You'll be trusted to independently support deployment activities at manufacturing sites across the country while collaborating closely with the Infrastructure team. Once the Windows 11 rollout is complete, you'll transition into a broader Infrastructure Support Engineer role with opportunities to expand your technical skills across Microsoft technologies, endpoint management, and enterprise infrastructure.
