Mainframe IMS Application DBA

Our client, a leading enterprise in the technology sector, is seeking a Mainframe IMS Application DBA to join their team. As a Mainframe IMS Application DBA, you will be part of the Database Support Department supporting the IMS Database Management team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

** What's the Job?*
* + Manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise setting.

+ Support and maintain various IMS database types including Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB.

+ Perform database administration activities such as definition, allocation, and dataset management.

+ Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.

+ Collaborate with application development, system programmers, and operations teams to ensure database integrity and efficiency.

** What's Needed?*
* + Minimum of 7 years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment using Sysplexed Data Sharing.

+ Strong knowledge of IMS database types, utilities, and maintenance activities.

+ Hands-on experience with IMS utilities, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.

+ Familiarity with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, REXX, and batch/online IMS environments.

+ Experience troubleshooting database abends, data corruption, and integrity issues.
