IBM Z/VM Environment Administrator
Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM z/VM environments.
Provision and manage Linux on IBM Z (s390x) virtual servers.
Perform system upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning.
Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
Support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Configure and maintain virtual networking, storage, and security components.
Troubleshoot operating system, virtualization, and infrastructure issues.
Implement automation for provisioning, monitoring, and system administration tasks.
Collaborate with application, database, storage, and network teams.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
Participate in on-call support and production incident resolution.
Required
Skills & Experience:
5+ years of experience supporting IBM Mainframe environments.
Strong hands-on experience with:
z/VM
Linux on IBM Z (RHEL, SUSE, or Ubuntu for s390x)
IBM Z hardware platforms
Virtual machine provisioning and administration
Experience with:
DIRMAINT
RACF or equivalent security administration
TCP/IP networking
Shared File System (SFS)
CMS
CP commands and system management
Strong Linux administration skills:
User management
Storage management
System tuning
Shell scripting
Performance troubleshooting
Experience supporting virtualized enterprise workloads.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with:
IBM z16, z15, z14, or z13 platforms
LinuxONE environments
IBM Wave for z/VM
Open Shift on IBM Z
Kubernetes
Docker / Podman containers
Ansible automation
Git and Dev Ops tools
Familiarity with:
Db2
Web Sphere
MQ
CICS integration
Hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, OCI)
Experience with security and compliance frameworks in financial services environments.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Experience supporting large-scale banking, insurance, or government environments is highly preferred.

Experience with Mainframe Modernization and Linux workload migration initiatives.
