IT Project Manager, Data Engineering
Job Description
Manages the deployment of physical plant cabling systems and oversees the coordination of infrastructure implementation efforts for Oracle data centers. Guides collaboration with program management teams to ensure project deliverables are completed on time and provides guidance in collaborations with vendors to deliver build‑out of data center infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Oversee implementation of structured cabling solutions for new data center builds and expansions.
- Supervise the deployment of physical plant cabling systems.
- Ensure the team understands global data center cabling and infrastructure standards and maintains adherence.
- Contribute to troubleshooting moderately complex cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Guide coordination of infrastructure implementation efforts for Oracle data centers.
- Drive development of sustainable and repeatable solutions to support continuous improvement of data centers.
- Provide guidance on aligning the team to project scope, reviewing the Bill of Materials and available resources, and aligning the project roadmap with business needs.
- Ensure the team prioritizes customer experience in project planning and delivery.
- Model collaboration with Program Management teams to meet project deliverables on time.
- Attend vendor business reviews to report project updates and document vendor progress and roadblocks.
- Drive creation and maintenance of documentation on cabling and build standards for data center infrastructure.
- Provide guidance to vendors for build‑out of data center infrastructure and participate in vendor bidding and selection as needed.
- Mentor the team to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage multiple medium‑to‑large‑scale projects or initiatives across teams, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and budgets are monitored and met.
- Guide teams on adjusting plans to accommodate resource or timeline changes.
- Drive cross‑functional partnerships to align expectations and shared objectives across multiple teams.
- Coach team members to develop strategic relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Promote inclusivity by actively seeking and listening to diverse perspectives.
- Provide direction to multiple teams on addressing complex operational or technical issues and guide analysis to identify solutions.
- Model continuous learning to deepen expertise and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Drive the team to collaborate on, develop, and implement ideas to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
- Drive performance across teams through feedback and coaching aligned with performance‑management processes.
- Lead the talent‑acquisition pipeline by conducting candidate interviews, monitoring promotion eligibility, and orchestrating talent resources.
- Experience managing deployment of physical plant cabling systems and structured cabling solutions.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure standards and best practices.
- Project‑management experience with medium‑to‑large‑scale initiatives, including budgeting and resource planning.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex cabling connectivity issues.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and leading vendor‑selection processes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and adopt new processes.
