Overview
Compensation: DOE. Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Business Analyst to support the design and implementation of various critical technology initiatives for the Fire Department. The Fire Department currently has one opening for a locally based Lead Business Systems Analyst (LBSA). The position is full-time, 40 hours/week with occasional work outside normal working hours. The LBSA will join an existing Fire Prevention team, providing critical support.
There is one LBSA opening to support the Fire Department for the release 4 of the Planning and Development permitting system (SHAPE PHX). An estimated three-year effort with the possibility of extension. This position reports to the Fire Department. This position will work with the Fire Department, providing business analysis services to department efforts.
- Design, configure, test, and implement Release 4 of the SHAPE PHX permitting system in collaboration with the Fire Department and related stakeholders.
- Integration Specialist for Fire Prevention Systems: map and integrate existing Fire Prevention business processes, legacy systems, and manual workflows into the SHAPE PHX platform and digital environment.
- Advocate and liaison with SHAPE PHX Implementation Team on behalf of the Fire Department: act as the Fire Prevention Section’s advocate in meetings and engagements with SHAPE PHX contractors, ensuring the final product aligns with Fire Prevention’s operational needs and best practices from a system integration and operation aspect.
- Process Flow Optimization: analyze current business models and recommend adjustments to process flows to ensure efficient and seamless integration into the new system.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Leadership: assist and guide the UAT phase, ensuring Fire Prevention requirements are validated and that the system performs as requested.
- Best Practices Advisor: provide ongoing insights on software best practices tailored to the needs of Fire Prevention, focusing on process automation where possible.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology or related
- 5 years of progressive experience as a lead business analyst, including business cases, business and technical process mapping, requirements gathering, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, follow-through, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Exceptional attention to detail; documents must be professional and ready for Executive review
- Advanced proficiency with MS Word, One Note, Excel, PowerPoint, Project/PWA, and Visio; wireframe software
- Procurement experience (RFP, RFI, RFQ, etc.)
- Project implementation support experience (multi-year, large teams, phased rollouts)
