Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer (Testing) to support Air National Guard (ANG) F‑16 Mission Tactics Trainer (MTT) simulators in Mesa, AZ. The role involves designing and planning testing for network systems, providing specifications and detailed schematics for testing network architecture, and creating, modifying, and reviewing network test plans.
Key Job Responsibilities- Maintain smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems, coordinating with system administrators and technicians.
- Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, and install system‑wide software.
- Run security analysis tools, apply security settings, evaluate vendor products, and recommend hardware and software purchases.
- Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for the use of computing resources.
- Design, install, support and maintain Windows servers/clients in a Citrix Provisioning Services environment, RHEL virtual machines, and peripheral equipment.
- Configure software, modify software configuration, and perform basic configuration management according to all STIGs and other cybersecurity requirements.
- Plan for and respond to trouble tickets.
- Work as part of a project team in the design and integration of flight simulator software and solutions to meet mission requirements.
- Provide software application assistance for commonly used office automation applications and simulation tools.
- Implement software patches, security fixes, service releases, and firmware updates.
- Identify, analyze and document long‑range requirements.
- Be able to travel as required (11‑25%).
- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 3 years with a master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD; or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years experience.
- Current DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification (Security+, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC).
- Experience implementing and supporting Windows‑based operating systems.
- Basic understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
- Experience configuring software, modifying configuration, and performing basic configuration management according to all STIGs and other cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar tools.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and maintain it throughout employment.
- Experience with Windows Domains, including Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Experience implementing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in a virtual machine environment.
- Experience configuring HPE Pro Liant servers.
- Experience configuring and installing workstations from BIOS through OS.
- Experience supporting virtualization and remote access software such as Citrix Provisioning Services, vSphere, and Hyper‑V.
- Understanding of platform performance analysis, telemetry, and performance‑related troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring Aruba Switches.
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Power Shell, VBScript, Python, Bash).
- Strong experience implementing best practices in an end‑user environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments.
- Understanding/experience with IT audit and security assessment processes.
Primarily office‑based IT/Networking role. Occasional access to equipment rooms or small network spaces may be required. Light lifting (up to 25 lbs) and brief work in confined areas may occur.
