Systems Administrator, IT Business Analyst
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile, hands‑on IT Systems Administrator to manage technology operations at Shin‑Etsu Micro Si. This role serves as the lead IT resource for the company, balancing ERP ownership with day‑to‑day infrastructure and user support. In this role, you will do more than maintain systems. You will serve as a strategic partner responsible for keeping the business running smoothly while helping position the company for future growth.
The ideal candidate possesses technical expertise in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, along with SQL database administration experience, and a strong customer‑service mindset for supporting end users. You will also proactively identify and assess opportunities to leverage automation and AI to improve company‑wide productivity and streamline business workflows.
ERP Management & Business Flow
- Core ERP Ownership and Process Optimization: Own the administration, configuration, and continuous improvement of our ERP system (
Dynamics 365 Business Central
) to ensure alignment with our operational and strategic objectives. - Troubleshooting: Resolve ERP system issues quickly to ensure daily business continuity.
- Emerging Tech & AI Innovation: Actively evaluate business workflows to identify opportunities to leverage modern technologies such as AI, Microsoft Power Platform solutions, and automation to improve efficiency and eliminate manual processes.
- Vendor & Third-Party Relations: Act as the primary liaison with our external ERP, cybersecurity, and managed service providers (e.g.,
Archer Point, Packet watch, Kinetik
). Escalate and coordinate resolution of user tickets, security alerts, and system usability issues. Maintain support contracts and service relationships with key vendors.
- Reporting & BI: Develop, maintain, and update reports using SQL, Jet Reports, and
Power BI
. Design dashboards, workflows, and queues to improve visibility for decision-makers. - Database Administration: Manage core SQL databases, handling essential tasks including monitoring, performance tuning, routine backups, and data restoration.
- ERP Customization and Extensions: Utilize Business Central Application Language (AL) code to support ERP customizations, integrations, and reporting enhancements.
- Hardware & Software Lifecycle: Oversee all software installations, hardware upgrades, network infrastructure, and device management across the business.
- Entra and AD Maintenance: Add/remove and secure user accounts, manage MFA and VPN connectivity. Administer file shares.
- SharePoint: Maintain sites, permissions, and document management processes.
- Virtual server administration: Coordinate with managed service providers and hosting partners to maintain, secure, and monitor virtual server environments.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Implement and enforce industry‑best practices for cybersecurity. Partner with external security vendors to monitor threats and ensure strict alignment and compliance with our parent company’s overarching security frameworks.
- User Support & Training: Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal IT support and technology‑related issues. Provide patient, clear troubleshooting assistance and develop training initiatives to improve overall technology adoption and literacy.
- IT Asset Management: Maintain accurate inventories of computers, software licenses, and related technology assets.
Required Experience
- 3-5 years IT systems administration experience
