Systems Administrator II

• Support operating systems, virtual machines, storage appliances, and backup environments
• Troubleshoot issues and assist with change management activities
• Apply patches and perform routine system maintenance
• Participate in backup and restoration activities, including backup health checks and database-related restores
• Provide end-user and system support for infrastructure platforms during core business hours with rotational on-call participation
• Use monitoring and analytics tools to maintain system performance and identify issues
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to meet compliance and security requirements
• Follow change management procedures for hardware and software updates
• Troubleshoot hardware and coordinate repairs with vendors
• Evaluate new server hardware and software needs and support deployment activities
• Apply system hardening guidelines and assist Cyber Security Specialists during incident response
• Maintain inventory records for servers, equipment, and software
• Manage assigned tasks and tickets, ensuring timely completion of incidents, changes, and service requests
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational best practices
• Assist with escalated end-user support

• 2-4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows environments
• Experience working in multi-platform environments and following established SOPs and technical guidance
• Strong judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity fundamentals, and system performance concepts
• Experience with system lifecycle management, patching, and routine updates
• Familiarity with Bash, Python, Power Shell, or Ansible
• Experience supporting cloud services or virtualized environments, including VMware, Azure, or AWS
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members and stakeholders
• Experience creating or updating technical documentation
• Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as Service Now
• Working knowledge of Red Hat Linux, Windows, VxRail, VMware vCenter/vSphere, HPE, Azure, AWS, Bash, Python, Power Shell, Ansible, IP addressing, ACLs, DHCP, DNS, Solar Winds Patch Manager, SCCM, Red Hat Satellite, vSAN, SAN tools, iLO/iDRAC, Splunk, Solar Winds Orion, Dell Power Protect Data Manager, Data Domain, Active Directory, Red Hat IDM, LDAP, RSA SecurID, Microsoft KMS, Core street HID, OCSP, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange/Exchange Online, Service Now, and Azure Active Directory
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel to move equipment and set up workstations
• Ability to present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL
  -compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or another approved GSA document

Proficient in utilizing monitoring tools and ITSM platforms to ensure operational efficiency and effective incident resolution.
