Summary

As an Information Technology Intern
, you will contribute to projects that support the APS mission to deliver reliable energy to customers every day. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will gain hands‑on experience in an IT discipline while supporting initiatives that improve operations, strengthen security, enhance digital solutions, and create better experiences for employees and customers. Your work will help APS maintain dependable service for the communities it serves while developing skills that can launch your technology career.

  • Collaborate with IT professionals and cross‑functional teams on real projects in areas such as:
    • Application Development
    • Business Intelligence & Data Management
    • Digital Solutions and Delivery

    • Infrastructure and Operations
    • IT Strategy, Planning, and Delivery
  • Analyze information and contribute ideas that help improve technology solutions and business outcomes.
  • Explore the energy industry through site tours and learning experiences that connect technology to business impact.
Who We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Information Technology or related field.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and ongoing success in coursework or training.
  • Interest in technology and one or more IT disciplines, such as application development, data management, infrastructure, or digital solutions.
  • Strong learning agility, communication, and a willingness to take on new challenges in a collaborative environment.
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher and involvement in campus IT clubs or related student organizations is preferred.

This paid, temporary full‑time internship spans 10 weeks during the summer. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, opportunities for site visits, networking, and more.

Minimum Requirements
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3.0 GPA or higher.
Major Accountabilities

1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.

2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.

3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.

4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.

5) Performs other related duties as required.
