Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Network Engineer II with strong hands‑on expertise in Palo Alto firewalls, VPN technologies, and enterprise networking protocols.
This is a hands‑on network engineering role supporting highly available, secure, and regulated datacenter and distributed network environments. The engineer will support LAN/WAN infrastructure, Palo Alto security, client and vendor VPN connectivity, SD-WAN, routing and switching, and a multi‑carrier WAN supporting 50+ locations.
Critical Technical RequirementsCandidates must demonstrate strong, recent hands‑on experience with:
- VPN implementation and troubleshooting
- Enterprise routing and switching protocols
- LAN/WAN architecture and troubleshooting
- Highly available datacenter networking
- Cisco networking technologies
- Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot highly available enterprise network and security infrastructure.
- Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls and security policies.
- Implement and support site‑to‑site, client, and vendor VPN connectivity.
- Troubleshoot complex VPN, routing, connectivity, latency, and network‑performance issues.
- Support enterprise LAN/WAN environments and a multi‑carrier WAN connecting 50+ locations and external clients.
- Apply advanced networking protocols to improve scalability, resiliency, and performance.
- Support Cisco IOS, VMware networking, load balancers, wireless infrastructure, and SD‑WAN.
- Monitor network availability, security, and performance and proactively remediate issues.
- Support disaster recovery and highly available network architectures.
- Coordinate network security controls within a regulated enterprise environment.
- 6+ years of Network Operations, Network Engineering, or Data Center experience.
- 4+ years managing Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Strong hands‑on VPN configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting experience.
- Advanced understanding of enterprise routing and switching protocols in highly available datacenter environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
- Strong knowledge of network security architecture and firewall policy management.
- Experience with troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and Panorama.
- Experience supporting regulated environments governed by standards such as SOX, PCI, SSAE, NCUA, or FDIC.

The position specifically requires advanced routing/switching knowledge, VMware NSX expertise, Palo Alto security-policy experience, and network troubleshooting capabilities.
CertificationsPalo Alto certification is a major requirement. An exception may be considered for a highly experienced Palo Alto engineer who can obtain the required certification within 90 days
.
Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE is also required, along with Cisco VoIP or other applicable technical certification requirements.
Ideal CandidateThe strongest candidate will be a true enterprise network engineer with security depth, someone who can confidently configure and troubleshoot Palo Alto, VPNs, routing, switching, WAN connectivity, and advanced networking protocols rather than simply monitor or escalat network issues.
