First American is looking to add an Associate Commercial Underwriter to our growing team.

This position plays a key role in transforming commercial real estate experience by empowering our employees and customers to deliver next-generation solutions and results.

This role is hybrid to the Phoenix office. We are open to considering out of area, remote applicants.

What You’ll Do:

Serve as an underwriting resource by supporting, advising, and authorizing customer personal and customers on issues related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies

Exercise decision making authority, according to underwriting standards and guidelines, to underwrite the issuance of the title insurance

Provide guidance to company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services

Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes

What You’ll Bring :

High School Diploma Required, Bachelor's Degree preferred1-4 years of experience in underwriting, title, escrow or real estate related field preferred

Must be familiar with real estate law, including federal and state regulations

Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process

Strong, customer focused negotiation skills with an emphasis on effectively communicating analytical responses

Ability to collaborate and act decisively; build relationships internally and externally

Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and timely follow up Critical thinking and creative solutions

This position is eligible for bonus pay and/or incentives for production or other goals. Incentives have historically been competitive for the Arizona Market.

Pay Range: $32.31 - $43.05 Hourly This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
