Position Overview
Are you an experienced automotive mechanic ready to transition from the shop to a professional office environment? We are seeking a Mechanical Claims Specialist to join a growing customer contact team.
In this role, you will leverage your hands-on mechanical experience and deep understanding of vehicle repair to assess, evaluate, and process automotive warranty claims. This is a great opportunity to step away from the physical demands of repair work while continuing to use your technical expertise in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical claims using your knowledge of vehicle systems and repair processes
+ Communicate with dealerships, repair facilities, and customers via phone and email to resolve claim inquiries
+ Determine claim approvals or denials based on established warranty guidelines
+ Clearly explain claim decisions and next steps to customers and partners
+ Provide guidance to vehicle owners on how to proceed with repairs and claim submissions
+ Maintain accurate and detailed claim records using internal systems
+ Deliver excellent customer service by actively listening, problem-solving, and showing empathy
+ Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure consistency and quality in claims handling
Call Types You'll Handle
+ Dealerships:
Calling to verify whether repairs are covered under warranty
+ Vehicle Owners (Claims Decisions):
Seeking explanations for approved or denied claims
+ Vehicle Owners (Process Inquiries):
Requesting guidance on how to proceed with vehicle issues and repair coverage
Required
Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of 3 years of automotive mechanic or related mechanical experience
+ Strong understanding of automotive systems and repair processes
+ Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
+ Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
+ Experience handling complex customer inquiries and resolving issues effectively
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
+ Comfortable working in a call center setting with multiple systems and screens
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Email, etc.)
+ High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications
+ ASE Certification (a plus)
+
Experience with claims systems, labor guides (e.g., All Data), or diagnostic scan tools
+ Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates strongly preferred
Additional Requirements
+ Ability to travel for a 2-week onboarding training (locations may include Deerfield Beach, FL or St. Louis, MO)
+ Willingness to work occasional Saturdays
+ Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace for remote/hybrid work

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
