Job Details
  • Review and analyze conflict check reports for new business intake, potential clients, and matters firm-wide
  • Identify potential legal and business conflicts of interest, provide detailed analyses, and recommend resolutions
  • Assist in the clearance of conflicts related to new hires, lateral attorneys, and firm acquisitions/mergers
  • Review and interpret outside counsel guidelines, ensuring compliance and communicating requirements effectively
  • Draft conflict waivers, ethical screens, and related documentation as needed
  • Collaborate with attorneys, partners, and risk management teams to resolve complex conflicts issues
  • Perform thorough research and due diligence on parties involved in new matters
  • Maintain accuracy and timeliness in all conflicts clearance processes under pressure
Qualifications
  • Active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction acceptable)
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • At least 2 years of experience in conflicts clearance, review of outside counsel guidelines, or related risk management in a large law firm (strong candidates without exact experience considered)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical/critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and legal research tools
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
