Exentec is seeking an experienced Senior Materials Manager to lead all planning, purchasing, and warehouse operations at our Phoenix facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving materials strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and overseeing a high‑performing team across planning, purchasing, logistics, and warehouse functions.

You will serve as the primary decision‑maker for the materials organization, providing direction, developing processes, and ensuring that material flow supports production, quality, and customer delivery requirements.

  • Lead, develop, and evaluate the planning, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure strong performance and alignment with company goals.
  • Manage and delegate daily work activities across purchasing, logistics, and production scheduling.
  • Oversee training and development of direct reports to build organizational capability.
  • Maintain and optimize ERP planning and purchasing modules; ensure accurate inventory levels and minimize non‑moving inventory risks.
  • Develop and maintain monthly metrics for planning, purchasing, and warehouse operations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and improve ISO procedures related to materials management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Order Entry & Planning Management
  • Support the planning and preparation of production schedules.
  • Own the master schedule and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to sequence assembly and meet shipping commitments.
  • Support planning and scheduling milestones for manufacturing.
  • Review, communicate, and update ERP data related to demand changes and new customer orders.
Purchasing Management
  • Plan, organize, and control all procurement activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and terms.

    Implement improved purchasing procedures, methods, and systems.
  • Support quoting activities for new projects, including defining the supply base and obtaining pricing.
  • Perform RFQs, qualify suppliers and new items, negotiate pricing, award business, and monitor supplier performance.
  • Expedite materials to resolve schedule delays and improve supplier delivery performance.
  • Evaluate and approve freight costs when required.
Warehouse Management
  • Maintain strict control over inventory levels and warehouse procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to shipping and receiving policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement warehouse strategies that improve product flow, distribution efficiency, and inventory management.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or a related field preferred (not required).
  • 10+ years of experience in Production Planning, Master Scheduling, Supply Chain, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years of ERP experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Purchasing, Materials, or Warehouse Management.
  • Experience with the Made2

    Manage (M2M) ERP system is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including active listening.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, or off‑shift hours as needed.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
