Mattur is building a new class of modular power systems that deliver reliable, low-cost energy anywhere it's needed. Our platform starts with Pulse Tech — a high-efficiency generator core used across our portable and backup hybrid-fuel systems and our compact utility wind turbines — giving customers scalable power without the constraints of traditional solutions.
Mattur systems operate where legacy equipment struggles: low-wind environments, remote sites, fast-growing operations, and markets where power availability limits growth. With faster installation, lower operating cost, and real-time optimization through our control software, we provide dependable power for construction, mission-critical backup, rural communities, and the next generation of AI and industrial load.
At Mattur, we're reinventing distributed energy — systems that are cleaner, smarter, and resilient by design. Join us as we build the next generation of American-made power.
Position OverviewMattur is seeking an R&D Operations Coordinator to support our Chief Technology Officer and help keep the day-to-day engine of our R&D operation running. This person is the CTO's shadow — in the room for key meetings, capturing decisions and action items, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks — while also owning procurement and materials for the R&D team and helping keep the Phoenix office running smoothly.
It's a high-trust, high-variety role for someone exceptionally organized and eager to learn how a hardware company gets built from the inside — a great fit for someone early in their career ready to sit at the center of the action.
- Shadow the CTO through key meetings, capturing clear notes, decisions, and action items and circulating follow-ups to the right owners.
- Track commitments the CTO makes across engineering, manufacturing, and operations — chasing down owners and surfacing anything at risk of slipping.
- Help keep the CTO on track day-to-day — reminders on deadlines and priorities, and keeping meetings moving and on time.
- Prepare agendas, briefings, and background research so the CTO walks into every conversation prepared.
- Maintain a running log of open items and decisions so there's always a single source of truth.
- Own procurement of materials, components, and equipment for the R&D team — managing supplier relationships, purchase orders, lead times, and inbound logistics to prevent delays.
- Source and qualify suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and specialty hardware; help run RFQs, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain a preferred vendor list.
- Maintain inventory tracking for R&D materials — accurate records of stock levels, component locations, and material movement.
- Partner with engineering to track BOMs, support engineering change orders (ECOs), and forecast component needs ahead of prototype and development builds.
- Identify and resolve supply‑chain bottlenecks proactively, managing risk across single‑source and long‑lead‑time items.
- Support day‑to‑day office operations at Mattur's Phoenix HQ — supply ordering, facility coordination, and vendor relationships.
- Support new‑hire onboarding logistics — equipment setup, badge access, workstation readiness, and coordination with IT and HR.
- Handle inbound mail, packages, and shipment receiving, routing items to the right teams.
- Coordinate travel, expenses, and ad hoc logistics for the CTO and leadership as needed.
- 0–3 years of experience in operations, procurement, engineering, or a technical or fast‑paced environment (internships count); eager to learn how a hardware company operates from the inside.
- Bachelor's degree (technical or business field a plus, but not required).
- Exceptional organization, note‑taking, and follow‑through; nothing slips through the cracks on your watch.
- Technically curious — able to follow engineering and hardware conversations closely enough to capture what matters.
- Strong Excel skills — comfortable building and maintaining trackers, working with formulas, and organizing data cleanly.
- Comfortable leaning on AI tools to move faster and stay organized.
- Quick to pick up new systems (ERP/MRP, Asana, Notion, and similar).
- Strong written communication, high discretion with sensitive information, and sound judgment on what to elevate versus handle.
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast‑paced startup.
- Based in Phoenix, AZ; this is a full‑time, on‑site, hourly role.
- Competitive hourly compensation.
- A rare, close‑up view of how a hardware startup is built — and a path to grow into an expanded role.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and life insurance plans.
- A mission‑driven team building next‑generation American‑made power.
