Based at our corporate office in Phoenix, AZ, this role follows a hybrid work schedule. Remote work is not available. Candidates must reside within commuting distance and be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Job OverviewThe Senior Inventory Planner manages the end‑to‑end product lifecycle—forecasting, inventory planning, replenishment, and vendor collaboration—to keep the right products available at the right time across more than 950 Leslie’s locations. The role partners with Merchandising, Vendors, Distribution Centers, and Store Operations to optimize inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and ensure fast‑moving items remain in stock while maintaining profitability.
Responsibilities- Create, maintain, and track purchase orders to support business needs.
- Analyze vendor lead times and order products within appropriate timelines.
- Align purchase order activity with open‑to‑buy targets and inventory strategies.
- Monitor sales performance and inventory trends to make informed adjustments.
- Resolve backorder opportunities to support product availability.
- Develop and maintain accurate product forecasts.
- Manage forecast exceptions and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain effective replenishment parameters across the business.
- Analyze sales trends to improve in‑stock availability.
- Partner with Distribution Centers to resolve inventory discrepancies and shipment issues.
- Manage return‑to‑vendor processes as needed.
- Monitor inbound inventory flow for efficient movement.
- Coach and support 1–2 team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Create and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) to increase efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred, or equivalent retail inventory planning experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail, inventory planning, merchandising, or supply chain.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with inventory management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within established timelines.
- Availability to work onsite Tuesday–Thursday.
