Parts Manager
Transdev – Phoenix, AZ (South Yard – 2225 W Lower Buckeye Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85043)
Key Responsibilities- Supervise parts clerks and coordinate parts and materials transfers between locations.
- Maintain parts department offices and warehouses organized and clean.
- Lead cost‑reduction initiatives, manage and reduce obsolete inventory, and provide inventory justification.
- Design, implement, and monitor a cost‑quality purchasing program.
- Stock inventory at appropriate levels while maintaining service to shop operations.
- Maintain an effective parts catalog system and manage parts warranty claims.
- Manage core exchange program, prepare and conduct quarterly physical inventories, and ensure credibility of repair order information.
- Interact positively with customers and provide reports as necessary.
- Meet all contractual requirements for parts inventory and services and initiate all necessary operating procedures.
- Provide recommendations to build and maintain an exemplary quality parts facility.
- Issue and track purchase orders in multiple databases.
- Maintain positive relationships with employees, management, vendors, and clients.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of inventory/parts experience; prior management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Prior parts experience with heavy equipment preferred.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
- Ability to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize tasks, handle time pressure, and communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
- Strong organization, labor‑relations, radio dispatch, and basic math skills for tracking trends and report writing.
- Autonomous, self‑directed, and capable of handling crisis/conflict.
- Must pass a pre‑employment physical examination, including a drug test.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on possible sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, lift material up to 50 pounds, and occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch.
- Maintain a valid Class D Arizona driver’s license and excellent motor vehicle record if required to operate company vehicles.
- Salary: $88,000 – $98,000 per year (DOE).
