Purchasing & Inventory Manager Build Something Better. Lead People. Solve Problems.
Gruber Companies – Phoenix, Arizona
* MUST BE LOCAL - Onsite Position
Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We’re Not Looking for Someone to Maintain a Purchasing Department.
We’re looking for someone who wants to build one.
At Gruber Companies, we believe purchasing should be a competitive advantage—not simply an administrative function.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys asking:
- Why do we do it this way?
- Is there a better process?
- How can we reduce costs without sacrificing quality?
- How can we help every department perform better?
If solving problems energizes you, developing people is rewarding, and building better systems excites you, we’d like to meet you.
Who We AreGruber Companies is a privately owned organization serving customers through manufacturing, distribution, e-commerce, and technical services.
We’re growing, evolving, and investing in our future. That means we need leaders who aren’t satisfied with simply managing today’s workload—they’re excited about creating tomorrows processes.
This isn’t a “keep the wheels turning” position.
This is an opportunity to help shape how purchasing and inventory operate for years to come.
What You’ll DoYou’ll become the leader responsible for helping transform purchasing into a strategic advantage.
You’ll:
- Develop and mentor our purchasing and inventory teams.
- Build strong supplier partnerships.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements.
- Improve inventory accuracy and inventory turns.
- Identify waste and eliminate inefficient processes.
- Create systems that make every department more effective.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Leadership.
- Analyze purchasing trends and use data to improve decision making.
- Help centralize purchasing throughout the organization.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and profitability.
This role is for someone who naturally asks questions, enjoys solving difficult problems, and likes making things better.
You’ll likely be successful if you:
- Enjoy improving existing processes.
- Take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- Like developing people and watching them succeed.
- Can influence others through trust rather than authority.
- Enjoy learning new industries and products.
- Can balance analytical thinking with practical execution.
- Are excited by growth and change rather than intimidated by it.
We care more about your ability to improve an organization than simply the number of years you’ve held a title.
Ideal candidates will have experience in several of these areas:
- Purchasing or Supply Chain
- Inventory Management
- Manufacturing or Distribution
- Team Leadership
- Process Development
If you’ve consistently found better ways to do things, we’d like to hear about them.
We’re looking for someone interested in building a long‑term career—not simply filling a position.
As our company grows, this role will continue to expand in responsibility and influence. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape purchasing strategy, develop future leaders, and make a measurable impact on the company’s success.
- Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000
- 401(k) with company match
- Health Savings Account
- Wellness Program
- A collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement
