Position Summary
Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4k), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Phoenix, AZ. The student worker will assist with refurbishing and maintaining used bicycles for donation to those in need. The position is approved as Community Service under 34 CFR 675.2(b) and is part of the FWS‑CSLP program. Student workers may work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, or summer if eligible.
Responsibilities- Refurbish and maintain used bicycles (e.g., replace tires, chains, and other components).
- Power wash and detail bicycles for final inspection before donation.
- Assist with warehouse organization and inventory management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Enrolled full‑time in a bachelor’s program or half‑time in a master’s program at GCU during the academic year (fall/spring) or full‑time in a master’s program during summer.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA (bachelor’s) or 3.0 GPA (master’s).
- Maintain good financial and academic standing (SAP).
- Have a passion for helping others and strong ethics, integrity, and a sense of responsibility.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak a second language is a plus.
- Complete the FAFSA to be considered for FWS eligibility.

Pay Rate:
Minimum Wage.
Anticipated End Date:
June 30, 2027.
