Strategic Sourcing

Pet Smart is seeking a Strategic Sourcing professional to optimize retail and pet product spend across categories, services, and suppliers. In this role, you will lead sourcing events, analyze total cost of ownership, negotiate contracts, and build strong vendor partnerships that support Pet Smart's pet-first mission. You will collaborate with Merchandising, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to secure quality products and services at the best value, mitigate risk, and ensure supply continuity.

Leveraging data, you'll drive savings, improve terms, and support sustainability, diversity, and community-impact sourcing initiatives while growing your career in a collaborative, pet-loving culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for retail goods and services
• Conduct spend, market, and total cost of ownership analysis
• Run RFP/RFQ processes and evaluate supplier proposals
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers
• Develop and manage supplier relationships and performance metrics
• Partner with Merchandising, Operations, and Finance on sourcing strategies
• Identify cost savings, value creation, and risk mitigation opportunities
• Ensure supply continuity and support inventory and service-level goals
• Support diversity, sustainability, and community-focused sourcing
• Report sourcing results and savings to leadership stakeholders
