Strategic Sourcing Manager

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Pet Smart, you will lead sourcing strategies for key product categories supporting our retail and supply chain operations. You'll negotiate contracts, optimize total cost of ownership, and build strong supplier partnerships to ensure product availability, quality, and value for pet parents. Partnering closely with Merchandising, Purchasing & Procurement, and Supply Chain & Logistics, you will use data-driven insights to analyze spend, manage risk, and improve service.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing for key product categories supporting Pet
• Smart's retail operations
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and service levels
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to drive savings and value
• Analyze spend, market trends, and supplier performance to identify improvement opportunities
• Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain & Logistics, and Finance on sourcing initiatives
• Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and risk mitigation plans
• Ensure continuity of supply while supporting sustainability and animal welfare goals
• Use data and analytics to forecast demand and optimize inventory and logistics flows
• Support cross-functional projects to improve purchasing processes and tools
• Coach team members and contribute to an inclusive, pet-first culture
