We are looking for a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment across our schools. The role includes direct maintenance tasks, transportation support, minor repairs, supply delivery and general facility upkeep.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor and Night Lead Custodian, the custodian cleans the physical plant, classrooms and other areas. The position also includes minor maintenance duties related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and equipment maintenance. This full‑time, traditional school‑year position (10.5 months) pays $15.50–$16.00 per hour, depending on experience, and includes medical, dental and life insurance benefits.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and neat appearance at all district locations.
- Vacuum and clean floors, dust and mop rooms, clean glass surfaces, wash and clean exterior walkways.
- Wax, buff and apply paint, stripping and shampooing as required.
- Assist with operating heavy machinery and other equipment as needed.
- Perform minor building maintenance such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and equipment upkeep.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work without supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
- Working knowledge of industrial equipment and basic housekeeping care.
- Good physical health and stamina.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience as a custodian.
- Maintenance experience in electrical or mechanical equipment.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands, arms and fingers. Staff may lift up to 50 lbs. The work occurs in a moderate to loud environment with varying temperature and occasional odors. Employees will interact with the public and other district members.
