Environmental Technician - General Laborer
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Environmental Technicians to join our facility in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves handling and processing hazardous materials in a dynamic environment. Technicians will receive comprehensive training, including forklift operation, to excel in this position.
Responsibilities- Operate forklifts and other equipment for moving hazardous waste materials.
- Conduct processes to consolidate containers and sort waste into the correct drums.
- Load trucks with up to 60 drums and ensure all items are properly labeled and counted.
- Perform 'strap & wrap' procedures to secure containers for transportation.
- Offload hazardous waste containers from trucks and trailers and prepare clean supplies for the next day.
- Perform quality checks and inventory management of chemical waste materials.
- Experience with hazardous material handling and chemical waste management.
- Forklift operation experience is preferred, certification is a plus.
- Ability to lift between 5-100 lbs, either manually or using equipment.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (training provided).
- Ability to work outdoors year-round and adapt to varying weather conditions.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is industrial, with operations primarily outdoors. Employees must be comfortable working in all seasons, with early start times to accommodate weather conditions. Safety gear, including steel toe boots, safety vests, safety glasses, and hard hats, is provided. Expect a full-time schedule with potential for overtime, ensuring a robust work‑life balance.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
