Job DescriptionThe Bonded Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all bonded warehouse operations to ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations while maintaining operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and security standards. This role leads warehouse personnel, manages regulatory compliance, and serves as the primary liaison between clients, customs brokers, and government agencies.
Compensation: $85,000 – $105,000
Responsibilities- Serve as primary point of contact for CBP officers, auditors, and government agencies
- Oversee and approve all bonded admissions, withdrawals (consumption/export), transfers, destructions, and manipulations
- Ensure proper execution and documentation of CBP Forms (including 214s, 7501s, 3461s, permits, and related documentation)
- Maintain complete and audit‑ready bonded inventory records at all times
- Ensure record retention meets or exceeds regulatory requirements
- Lead and manage CBP audits, compliance reviews, and examinations
- Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments
- Direct all daily bonded warehouse operations including receiving, storage, labeling, manipulation (if applicable), and outbound processing
- Enforce strict physical segregation of bonded and non-bonded merchandise
- Ensure real‑time accuracy of inventory within the WMS and CBP reporting systems
- Oversee cycle counts and full physical inventories; reconcile variances immediately
- Establish and monitor KPIs for inventory accuracy, processing time, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve workflow
- Ensure timely and compliant release of goods to avoid penalties or delays
- Supervise and develop bonded warehouse clerks and operational staff
- Provide ongoing training on CBP compliance requirements and documentation standards
- Hold team accountable for accuracy, procedural adherence, and regulatory discipline
- Resolve discrepancies with brokers and clients proactively
- Provide bonded inventory reporting and compliance updates to customers
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- 5–8 years of warehouse operations experience, with 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience
- 3–5 years of direct bonded warehouse or customs compliance experience required
- Strong working knowledge of CBP bonded warehouse regulations (19 CFR Part 19)
- Experience managing CBP audits and regulatory inspections required
- Advanced knowledge of bonded documentation and entry processing
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Strong communication skills
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Advanced computer skills (data entry, email, inventory systems, Google Suite, etc.)
- Experience with WMS or inventory tracking systems
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Bilingual (English, Spanish) a plus, but not required
