Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supervising DCS Intake Specialists and support staff at the Child Abuse Hotline.

JOB DUTIES
  • Supervise a unit of DCS Intake Specialists and support staff at the Child Abuse Hotline
  • Perform on-going evaluations of staff performance
  • Practice within a Safety Science framework
  • Onboard and train new personnel
  • Monitor real-time adherence and respond appropriately to ensure calls are answered timely
  • Track, monitor, and analyze historical data reports to identify trends and patterns related to quality and safety
  • Perform Screened-Out Intake and After Hours Intake Reviews
  • Adhere to and support the department’s performance management methodology
  • When business needs exist, be able to work outside of regularly scheduled shift and adjust schedule for meetings and trainings
  • Required to work a minimum of 4 state holidays, including Thanksgiving or Christmas, and Memorial Day or Fourth of July
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Training
  • DCS Specialist Training track and DCS Specialist Hotline training track classroom sessions unless this training has been completed within the previous two years
  • DCS Program Supervisor Training Track

Training will be provided. Classroom sessions are held in Phoenix.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of: Federal and State laws, regulations and directives pertaining to the Department of Child Safety (DCS); report and non-report screening practices and procedures; supervisory techniques; behavior development and modification; resources available in the community;
    Department Policies and procedures
  • Skill in: Verbal and written communication; establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; workload management; problem resolution; public speaking;
    Microsoft Suite, including Teams; DCS computer systems and Hotline call center applications
  • Ability to: Work as a member of a larger team; solve problems; motivate others; perform under pressure
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of experience with the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS)
  • OR Master’s or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of combined experience in the DCS Specialist Trainee, DCS Specialist, DCS Program Specialist, Investigator Sr., or Assistant Manager role AND six (6) months of experience in a DCS Program Supervisor Special Assignment role
  • OR Master’s or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of combined experience in the DCS Specialist Trainee, DCS Specialist, DCS Program Specialist, Investigator Sr., or Assistant Manager role AND one (1) year of professional-level supervisory experience
  • OR Master’s or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university AND five (5) years of combined experience with a Government or Tribal Child Welfare agency or an Arizona agency that specializes in child welfare practice

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card; must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the Guardian Central Registry.

Request proof of professional-level supervisory experience will be requested after candidate has been recommended for hire. Professional-level supervisory experience is defined as being responsible for managing personnel, allocating resources, conducting performance evaluations, reviewing salaries, and making personnel action recommendations.

Additional requirements:

driver’s license requirements if position requires driving; all newly hired State employees must successfully complete E-Verify.
