The City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture champions, promotes, and supports the City's arts and culture community to make Phoenix a great place to live, work, and visit. The department manages an award-winning public art program; grants funds to artists and nonprofit arts organizations; oversees a dozen cultural facilities; professional development opportunities for arts administrators and individual artists; and participates in national studies and research that make a strong case for the arts and demonstrate their economic, social, practical, and educational benefits.
The Office of Arts and Culture seeks a dynamic individual to serve as an agency deputy director. The position is responsible for designing, developing and implementing the agency's General Obligation (GO) Bond, operations, and budgeting programs. It assists in the department's management and day-to-day operations, oversees long-range planning, coordinates assigned activities with outside agencies, provides highly responsible and complex support to the Director, serves as an acting department head in the Director's absence, and performs related duties as assigned.
KEY DUTIES
* Develops and manages the department's multi-year capital improvement programs for the department, in tandem with the Deputy Director (Public Art), city departments, City Council and the department head.
* Develops and manages the department's operating budget and directs procurement for the department.
* Manages and directs the department's GO Bond portfolio, including budgeting, coordination with non-profit partners, overseeing work of professional contractors, and planning for future GO Bond opportunities.
* Manages key projects and special initiatives that relate to organizational growth and works with the Director on strategic long-range planning and organizational goals for the department.
* Directs and supervises cultural facilities property manager and other operational support staff.
* Demonstrates superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.
* Writes commission/council reports, special project status reports, and feasibility reports, and makes public presentations as required.

SALARY
Pay and Hiring Range: $ - $ annually.
Pay Range Explanation:
* Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
* Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
* The City contributes 9% of salary into 457/401(a) plans with no matching required. $4,200/annual car allowance and $1,440/annual cell phone allowance.

Please understand that this is pay grade 832. If selected, your salary offer will be based on the applicable promotion or demotion worksheet in accordance with the City Pay Ordinance.
