Senior Construction Manager

🏢 Fully Onsite (Office + Active Development Sites)

A highly active and well-established retail real estate developer in the Phoenix market is seeking a Senior Construction Development Manager to lead the execution of large-scale commercial projects.

This is an owner-side leadership role responsible for managing projects from land acquisition through permitting, construction, and final tenant turnover. The position serves as the primary representative of ownership, working directly with general contractors, engineers, architects, and municipal officials to ensure successful project delivery.

This role offers the chance to take full ownership of retail and mixed-use development projects, including high-profile land developments currently underway in the Phoenix metro area.

You will be the person accountable for:

• Delivering projects on time and within budget
• Managing cost estimates and tracking estimated vs. actual performance
• Leading permitting and entitlement processes
• Reviewing and interpreting construction documents and plan sets
• Overseeing bidding and contract negotiations
• Conducting regular site visits and proactively resolving issues
• Representing ownership in meetings with contractors and city officials

• 10+ years of commercial real estate development or construction experience
• Strong ground-up retail or mixed-use development experience
• Senior Project Manager (commercial GC) ready to transition owner-side, or current Development Manager with hands‑on execution experience
• Deep understanding of permitting and municipal processes in Arizona
• Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs
• Strong communicator with confidence in field and municipal settings
• Fully onsite role
• Time spent both in the office and at active development sites
• Direct coordination with contractors, engineers, and city officials required
