The Keller Group is collaborating with a dynamic Phoenix-based company to confidentially identify a Director of Accounting to oversee technical accounting matters and enterprise-wide initiatives. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex accounting areas, strengthen internal controls, and lead high-impact projects that influence the broader organization. The position blends technical accounting leadership with close process oversight, cross‑functional coordination, and strategic project execution, including acquisition‑related integration efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on complex accounting topics, including business combinations and related guidance (ASC 805).
  • Assess and enhance the organization’s internal control framework through evaluation, design, implementation and ongoing testing.
  • Oversee and review accounting outputs across multiple business units to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Lead and coordinate the month‑end close process, maintaining structured timelines and driving accountability across departments.
  • Partner on special initiatives and integration projects tied to acquisitions or other strategic transactions.
  • Utilize strong project management skills to maintain momentum, meet deadlines and ensure successful execution of key deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Active or inactive CPA license
  • Public accounting or audit experience preferred
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research
  • Hands‑on experience with internal control environments and compliance
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and exposure to M&A transactions or integration activities is a plus
